Hi Dr. Belair,
If you insert a raster (jpg) file into inkscape, that will not vectorize it. However, if you want to share a raster file you can do that by uploading the raster file.
If you want to draw a vector image, you can do that from scratch using inkscape or convert a raster image into a vector one by dropping it over inkscape, then select the image by clicking in it, then select Path->Trace bitmap. Vectorizing using inkscape produces best results for lineart images or black/white (not grey scale images)... things similar to this: http://www.clker.com/clipart-vineyard-fruit-basket.html
You can also vectorize online on clker.com using Crayon, you can watch this video for a brief tutorial (http://www.clker.com/crayon_help/) , or read this detailed tutorial: http://www.clker.com/blog/2009...on-crayon/ |
Good day,
New user in graphics I do not quite understand what is the problem about.
I made the image in jpg with GIMP, then I have vectorized it with INKSCAPE, so can you tell me what is wrong with this process ?
Thanks in advance.
Regards

I saw the secure parking upload. I will actually vectorize it in a bit. |
Hi...., your last upload seems to be missing the image. If you want to upload a photo, you can just upload the .jpg file. If it is a vector SVG, you will need to embed all the raster images before uploading. You can do that by selecting ( Extensions->Images->Embed images ). I will delete this last one since it is not helpful. Thanks for the upload. |
Thanks for ypur message. I did a wrong manipulation. I try an other upload this way. Regards. |
Hi... I deleted the file you uploaded as you linked an image from your harddrive called Love1.jpg, and did not embed the image in the SVG. So, when you uploaded the SVG to clker, clker had no access to that image to display your file correctly.
Thanks for uploading.... |
