SUMMARY:  Print shows Elizabeth Canning, transported to America, seated in a room. She looks alarmingly at an old crone pointing to a soldier's uniform. Through the open window can be seen British soldiers marching up a hill as dark-skinned natives carry large bundles. The text, relating a dream, refers to the French and Indian War, Joan of Arc, and Canning's accuser in Britain, Mary Squires. MEDIUM:  1 print : engraving ; 35.5 x 25 cm (plus text) CREATED/PUBLISHED:  [England] : Printed for T. For and publish'd according to Act of Parliament, 1755. NOTES: Not found in British Museum Catalogue (BMC).
